A lifelong knitter and crocheter, Susan began to share her knowledge and skills about 6 years ago.
“I love to introduce newbies to the magic of creating with yarn and needles/hooks. And, then to continue to build their skills and self-sufficiency in a patient, non-judgmental environment.”
“It’s about learning, about the satisfaction in creating something with your own hands and about the friends you make along the way in the knit and crochet community.”
“I personally enjoy exploring all the facets of knit and crochet, learning new techniques and honing my skills. My favorite projects are either super quick to knit or heavy on the skills with lots of problem solving opportunities. I find playing with color, texture, shaping engaging and revel in ‘getting under the hood’ and understanding the thinking that went into a pattern. ”
Susan is a Certified Craft Yarn Council Teacher in both knit and crochet. She holds a degree in Art Education, has worked in graphic design and production and then with the Girl Scouts in program and membership development.
One of our students has this to say about Susan Leibowitz:
I thoroughly enjoyed my class on Sun., Oct 11, in Carlstadt NJ at the outlet! Ms. Susan Leibowitz is the best teacher and very patient. I was able to learn to use double pointed needles and fair isle as requested. I enjoyed the class and also the outlet itself. This got my visit to N.J. off to a great start. I’m originally from central N.J., didn’t know the outlet was there, but I will be making either the Manhattan location or the Carlstadt location a stop during my visits. Thank you again, Susan!
